blaQ girl

At this point nothing I do is just for class. I am excited to share my Portrait Project with you all. I wasn't really a fan of the assignment at first because it felt so limiting as it relates to the time period 1865-1918. After a moment of addressing internally why I was so turned off, mainly because it felt like oppression porn. Like we know this story so well and quiet as its kept I think people around these OU parts are obsessed with the era. The search engine alone can be a whole barrier when doing black culturally relevant work. But that's a different post... Anyway I reached in my little bag of BlaQ Girl Magic and remembered there is nothing old or tired about their story, as a matter of fact we are just getting to truth of the matter.
